Hash Plant's story starts high in the Hindu Kush, where Afghan farmers spent generations picking the stickiest, most resinous plants to make traditional hash.
Sensi Seeds got hold of some female Hindu Kush cuttings from the Northwest US coast back in the 1990s and crossed them with Northern Lights to beef up the structure and potency.
The result was a stocky, chunky Afghanica, roughly three-quarters original Hash Plant and a quarter Northern Lights #1. That mix gave Hash Plant its tight, bushy shape and fast finish.
Other breeders have spun their own takes on it since then. California Hash Plant blends in some Californian mountain genetics to handle cooler weather, and Lost Coast Hash Plant throws G13 into the mix for a bit more balance.
